Job Description:

Resource Center Business Analyst serves as a project manager to drive new or existing product/policy/procedure through a specific process for a successful outcome that supports corporate objectives and protects against risk.  Position responsible for keeping abreast of current industry changes and for providing informed/reliable recommendations on how such changes may impact each line of business and corporate operations.  Accountable for researching, developing and communicating lending policies and procedures relating to all areas of mortgage lending.  Includes creating product guidelines according to agency/investor and SunTrust Mortgage and Bank credit requirements.    Prompt and accurate dissemination of appropriate information is required.  This position serves as an on-call telephone and email resource to internal and external clients for in-depth questions/problem resolution assistance related to loan programs and lending procedures.  Analyst must be well informed on a variety of mortgage topics ranging from loan products, forms and documents, legal/compliance issues, closing, post closing and servicing procedures.   Responsible for assisting and facilitating training sessions for each LOBs on all mortgage lending topics.  Additionally, responsible for training/orientation of all new correspondent lenders as well as new correspondent/broker account managers/customer relation coordinators.

 

Minimum Requirements:
5+ years mortgage experience. Requires in depth knowledge of all mortgage origination functions (i.e., processing, underwriting and loan origination).
Experience on project teams. Experience managing a segment of the project work. Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results, particularly through working with others. Strong problem-solving and partnership skills. Professional communications skills.


Preferred Qualifications:
*At least five (5) years of Mortgage Underwriting experience. Must be able to work independently and be comfortable carrying out time sensitive tasks as requested and directed.  Additional requirements include strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, developed PC skills in MS office, highly motivated. Must be able to multi task and prioritize responsibilities. Must be comfortable working with executive level management. Leadership and project management skills. It is critical that this associate does not get easily distracted by fast paced environment.
