Description

Individuals in this family use tools and perform assessments on the ability of individuals, companies and institutions to meet the demands of purchases, agreements, loans, projects or any other form of extended obligations. Incumbents work to minimize threats to the company by factoring the probability, and/or client scoring in determining the terms of or level of credit that can be granted or extended to a company or person without undue risk. In approving credit requests, individuals may primarily rely on automated and/or well-documented processes, scores, and other controls with the main objective that the level of accepted risk corresponds to company and industry standards.

PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Underwrites individual loans with credit authority.
*Highest level of credit authority within non-exempt population.
*Duties and tasks standardized.
*Resolves complex problems and issues.
*Help manage workflow.

Qualifications

•College Degree (BA/BS) preferred or High School diploma with equivalent training/work experience
•2-5 years prior underwriting experience (Conventional underwriting preferred,FHA/VA designation a plus)
•Experience in managing volume to productivity and quality standards; organizational skills
•Thorough knowledge of agency and secondary market underwriting and document requirements.
•Understanding of credit scoring
•Analytical, problem-solving and negotiating skills
•Excellent written and oral communication skills, and ability to communicate at all levels
•Strong customer service and team orientation.
