Job Description
The Mortgage Loan Processor will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the mortgage loan process including:
* Loan file set up
* Submission of files through automated underwriting programs
* Supports loan originators in gathering appropriate financial documentation/verifications
* Review of completed documents/verifications
* Submission of loans to bank for final approval
* Primarily responsible for follow up on missing loan documentation requested from loan originators
* orders appraisals, credit reports, flood determinations and other documents as needed
* Primarily responsible for monitoring compliance with the regulatory and secondary market guidelines on all FNMA, Freddie Mac, VA, FHA investor and PMI loans
* Key liaison between originators, customers for loan status
* Responsible for tracking and maintaining records for the following loan fees: appraisal, credit reports, loan fees, origination fees, yield spread premiums
* Submits fees and bills to accounting department for reconciliation and payment
* Stays abreast of emerging changes in processing requirements and procedures
* Makes suggestions to CFBLS Peers for improvement of loan process.
* Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Candidate should demonstrate experience with or the ability to quickly understand how to do all of the above tasks
Required Experience
* Three years experience in mortgage industry needed
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelors degree preferred
* General knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines and knowledge of VA and FHA essential
* Experience with DO/DU and Loan Processor Software programs
* Must have a proven ability to work successfully under deadlines
* The ability to use independent judgment and be a multi-tasker is required
* Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
