Mortgage Underwriting Technical Expert – Credit Underwriting, Richmond, VA

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for front line underwriting of Construction-Perm loans, Agency and Government repair escrow products, SunTrust REO loans, and other specialty products. In addition, this position may also be required to review maturing CP loans for modification and/or workout resolutions, to include loss/mitigation and troubled debt restructuring. 

 Minimum Job Requirements:         
-Minimum of 5 years mortgage experience of which 2 years preferably should include construction lending
-3 years underwriting experience
-Strong knowledge of agency and investor guidelines
-Strong knowledge of FNMA Desktop Underwriter
-Strong PC skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
-Experience with fraud detection systems: FastData / CoreLogic / Mers / other public record searches
-Excellent analytical skills with regard to appraisal review
-Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Must be organized and able to meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Preferred Job Requirements:
-Working knowledge of MLCS, PLX, Fidelity, RealTrac, E-trio   
-Direct Endorsement designation
