You as an Underwriter III will -
• Complete Fast Response (electronic) underwriting for: AU Caution loans, Non AU loans, Service Release Loans, Construction Permanent loans, Non Conforming loans. This includes use of the automated underwriting systems, creation of loan conditions, ensuring compliance with agency guidelines, and the creative structuring and restructuring of loans.
• Maintain quality, quantity and accuracy standards as established and evaluated by management from time to time.
• Maintain File Resolution and denial second review referral standards.
• Assist in providing underwriting training for Mortgage Service Center and Origination Staff on underwriting changes, new products, and various Automated Underwriting systems.
• Serve as a loan structuring resource for loan officers at the time of loan application.
• Maintain updated knowledge of various products and investor guidelines to ensure appropriate documentation is required and guidelines as met.
You and your skills -
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
• 5 years Mortgage Underwriting experience is requires.
• Thorough knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC and FHA/VA Underwriting requirements required. FHA Direct Endorsement designation is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required in the interpretation of guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Automated Underwriting Systems and processes is preferred.
